Assault
March 22 - Samuel Benesby, 21, of the 1700 block of Cold Springs Road in Newton Square, was arrested on the 200 block of S. 40th Street by Penn Police for allegedly assaulting a Penn Police officer at about 2:10 a.m.
Auto theft
March 27 - A male student, 27, reported that his dirt bike, secured with a cable lock, was removed by an unknown suspect at about 9:30 a.m. from the International House, located at 3701 Chestnut St.
Burglary
March 23 - Two computers were reported to have been taken from secured rooms in Williams Hall, located at 255 S. 36th St., at about 12:40 p.m.
March 24 - Two computers, valued at about $2,800, were reported to have had been taken from a secured room from the New Chemistry Building, located at 231 S. 34th St., at about 11:30.
March 25 - Marcellus Simpson, 71, resident of 1700 block of Alter Street, was arrested by Penn Police for allegedly attempting to break into a shop at the University City Sheraton, located at 36th and Chestnut streets, at about 1:50 a.m.
Theft
March 21 - A girl, 13, unaffiliated with the University reported that three offenders took her cell phone on the 4000 block of Spruce Street at about 11:18 p.m. Penn Police arrested three males, ages 17, 14 and 16, in connection with the incident.
March 22 - Tane Thompson, 33, of the 1800 block of S. Yewdall Street, was arrested by Penn Police at about 2:45 p.m. after allegedly leaving Ann Taylor with about $175 worth of merchandise without payment.
March 25 - A woman unaffiliated with the University, age 19, reported that an unknown suspect removed her wallet from her unattended purse from the Penn Bookstore, located at 3601 Walnut St., at about 6:30 p.m.
March 25 - A male University employee, 39, reported that an unknown suspect took electronic equipment from an unsecured box from a room in Penn-Presbyterian Hospital at about 4 p.m. The equipment was valued at about $1,500.
March 26 - Gregor Postell, 46, of the 7000 block of Buist Avenue, was arrested by Penn Police at about 4:40 p.m. for allegedly being in possession of stolen property.
March 27 - Roger Eggleston, 60, of the 300 block of N. 40th Street, was arrested for allegedly attempting to remove a bike that was secured with a cable lock from a bicycle rack on the 400 block of 40th Street.
Vandalism
March 21 - A male University employee, age 32, reported that an unknown suspect broke a window to his vehicle, located at the 3900 block of Locust Street, at about 7 p.m.
March 25 - A male student, age 19, reported that unknown suspects broke a window to his residence on the 3800 block on Locust Walk at around 1 a.m.
