News Brief: Rodin suspect charged; name not confirmed

The individual arrested in connection with Tuesday's attempted burglary in Rodin College House has been charged with aggravated assault, attempted burglary, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and other related offenses.

The Daily Pennsylvanian is not printing the suspect's name because it has received different names from the Philadelphia and Penn Police.

One name is the name of a male student and the other is the name of a male unaffiliated with the University. Neither Penn nor Philadelphia Police could explain why the agencies had two different names.

The suspect allegedly followed a College sophomore off the elevator in Rodin and tried to follow her into her room. When she closed the door on him, he reportedly knocked violently and tore signs off the door. When police arrived, he resisted arrest.

The victim said she had never seen the man before the incident.

University spokeswoman Lori Doyle did not return calls for comment.
