The Texas Longhorns await the Ivy League champions on Friday. Penn (20-8, 12-2 Ivy) drew the Big 12 regular season co-champions in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Quakers will face Texas (27-6, 13-3 Big 12 regular season) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The No. 8 Longhorns lost to Kansas, 80-68, in the Big 12 title game Sunday in Dallas after sharing the regular season crown with the Jayhawks. Texas coach Rick Barnes earned a No. 2 seed in his eigth trip to the Big Dance in as many years in Austin. He guided the Longhorns to the Final Four in 2003 before losing to eventual national champion Syracuse. Last year as a No. 8 seed, Texas fell to Nevada in the first round, 61-57. Penn is looking for its first NCAA Tournament win since defeating Nebraska in 1994. If the Quakers win, they will face the winner of the 7-10 game between North Carolina State and California on Sunday. Penn fell to fourth-seeded Boston College, 85-65, in the first round of last year's tournament in Cleveland. The Penn-Texas game will take place at 9:50 p.m. Eastern. More to come in Tuesday's DP.
