Penn graduate and musician John Legend received eight Grammy nominations yesterday for the 48th annual Grammy Awards.
Legend, who graduated from the College in 1999, tied with Kanye West and Mariah Carey for the greatest number of nominations.
Legend's single "Ordinary People" received nominations for Song of the Year, Best R&B; Vocal Performance and Best R&B; Song.
Other nominations for Legend include Best New Artist, Best R&B; Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, Best Traditional R&B; Vocal Performance, Best R&B; Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
The awards will be presented Feb. 8 in Los Angeles.
