News Brief: Three Ivy squads make M. Soccer College Cup

Dartmouth, Brown and Yale all tied for the Ivy League men's soccer championship, and all three were given bids to the College Cup -- the NCAA soccer tournament -- yesterday.

Each team was 5-1-1 in Ancient Eight play.

The Big Green, by virtue of its head-to-head performances against the Bears and Elis, won the league's automatic bid, and is seeded 16th.

Dartmouth received a bye and will play the winner of St. John's and Marist a week from today in New York.

The Big Green could then meet No. 1 Maryland in the round of 16.

However, the Terrapins could potentially have to play the Bears first.

Brown hosts in-state rival Rhode Island in the first round on Saturday with the winner going to College Park, Md to take on the Terps.

The Elis are in the same quarter of the draw as the Bears and Big Green, and host Stony Brook, also on Saturday.

The winner gets No. 8 Connecticut and could play Brown or Dartmouth in the quarterfinals.
