ZBT to leave campus

Colony status revoked after 2 sent to HUP

After the fourth policy violation in three years, Zeta Beta Tau faces permenant expulsion from campus.

"Last week, during an unsanctioned event, two event participants were injured and treated at HUP ER, one for alcohol posoning and one for bodily injuries sustained at the party," according to a press release from Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Director Scott Reikofski.

As a result of the incident, ZBT members are being asked to immediately surrender their status as a colony.

In September 2003, the fraternity's charter was revoked for a year and the house was put on colony status.

Former ZBT President Jon Schottenstein confirmed the frat's closing.

"We just broke our probation and our agreement," Schottenstein said. "The house knows. We had extensive meetings but we're not together right now."
