Phila. Police investigate alleged rape at Drexel
Philadelphia Police are investigating the alleged rape of a teenage girl on Drexel University's campus, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The 14-year-old girl told police Thursday that she had been assaulted by a male student in his dormitory room, on the 3300 block of Race Street, according to the Inquirer. She had been on campus visiting her older sister.
Officer Sheila Smith of the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed that there was an investigation into an incident at Drexel University, but could not confirm what it was in regards to, she said.
"There's been a report of an incident and it's being investigated by Special Victims," Smith said. She added that further information would be available today.
The Special Victims Unit declined to comment on the investigation.
