Crime Report

Simple Assault

Oct. 27 -- A female unaffiliated with the University reported that she was walking southward on the 3600 block of Market Street at approximately 5:11 p.m. when an unknown male punched her in the face and fled. She did not sustain injuries.

Theft of Auto

Oct. 27 -- A male unaffiliated with the University reported that his 1994 green Nissan Pathfinder was taken from the 3900 block of Spruce Street sometime between approximately 4 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Theft

Oct. 28 -- The manager of College Buffet, located at 3901 Walnut St., reported that a female left the restaurant with $12.82 worth of food at approximately 2:48 p.m. No arrest was made. Oct 27 -- A female student reported that her green wallet, containing credit cards and other items valued at $400, was removed from her backpack at Cosi, located at 140 S. 36th St., sometime between approximately 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 27 -- A female staff member reported that $6,852 was removed from a cashbox in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania's cafeteria, located at 3400 Spruce St., between approximately 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 27. Six employees had access to the safe. Oct. 24 -- A female student reported that her wallet and its contents, valued at $75, were taken from Van Pelt Library, located at 3420 Walnut St., at approximately 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24 -- A male whose affiliation with the University was unknown reported that a black and cream antique turnstile, valued at $300, was taken from his porch on 3730 Walnut St. between approximately 2:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 21 -- A male University employee reported that his car door was pried open and an Alpine CD player, valued at $300, was removed from his car, parked at 110 S. 38th St. between about 9:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Oct. 21 -- A male unaffiliated with the University reported that his steering wheel, a flashlight and automobile maintenance supplies, valued at $70, were removed from his car parked on the 4100 block of Pine Street at sometime between 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 3:50 p.m. on Oct. 21. Oct. 21 -- A female student reported that her Nokia cell phone, valued at $100, was taken from her unattended backpack in the Biomedical Library located at 3610 Hamilton Walk at approximately 6:45 p.m. Oct. 21 -- Benjamin Bohm, a 21-year-old male unaffiliated with the University, was arrested after removing a burgundy Adidas jacket, valued at $68, from Urban Outfitters, located at 100 S. 36th St., at about 4:43 p.m. Oct. 21 -- A male unaffiliated with the University reported that an unknown person used force to open a job box and removed a heavy duty saw valued at $200 and a hammer valued at $400 from the Chemistry Building, located at 250 S. 33rd St., at approximately 6:36 a.m.
