Wharton junior killed in car accident

A car accident early on New Years Day claimed the life of Wharton junior and Interfraternity Council Vice-President Yash Vkasbekar.

According to police reports and information from family members, Vkasbekar, 20, had traveled from his home town, Burr Ridge, Illinois to Wisconsin, to spend New Years at a friend's lake house.

The car carrying Vkasbekar and two other friends was reportedly forced off the road and into an embankment by another car, driven by a 16-year-old female driver, who then fled the scene. Vkasbekar's vehicle reportedly swerved to avoid a collision with another car and

was forced into an embankment before rolling onto the passenger side.
