Music: Where Are The Beastie Boys?

Providing hope to Jewish rappers everywhere

Just what this world needs--another Slim Shady or Bubba Sparxxx. But alas, Little T and One Track Mike don't have to rap to a Timbaland beat that sounds like every other wack beat out there. Rather, this self-produced duo has developed very simple--almost old school--rhythms with hints of jazz, soul and R&B.;

Although the "Intro" and the track "Fome is Dape" closely resemble the rock-rap synthesis of Limp Bizkit, Little-T and One Track Mike quickly add an R&B; flavor in joints such as "Wings" and "Loose Endin'." With dramatic chord progressions reminiscent of "Pomp and Circumstance" from my high-school graduation ceremony, and even an occasional crunching chord, "Wings" serves as a pleasant contrast to the head-banging electric guitar of One Track Mike. Additionally, with tracks featuring Shank Bone Mystic and Slick Rick, Little-T and One Track Mike successfully experiment with smooth and flowing voices juxtaposed with choppy and harsh beats.

And if that is not enough to escalate the duo to stardom, they also toured with Outkast's Stankonia tour, and that's really phat.
