Campus Crime report

Burglary

*Nov. 12 -- Three female University students reported that, between 11:50 a.m. and 1 p.m., someone entered the Alpha Phi sorority house, located at 4045 Walnut St., through the front door, which was left unlocked. A laptop computer valued at $3,500, another laptop valued at $2,300 and a cell phone valued at $400 were reportedly taken from the students' rooms. The students were not on the premises when the incident burglary occurred.

Robbery

*Nov. 14 -- Employees of the Freshgrocer supermarket, located at 4001 Walnut St., reported that a few minutes past 1 a.m., store security tried to stop a man who was allegedly attempting to leave the premises with stolen merchandise. The suspect reportedly kicked witnesses as he fled the store. He was then apprehended by store security and held until police arrived. The man was arrested and taken to the Philadelphia Police Department 18th District Headquarters at 55th and Pine streets for processing. The man's name has not been released pending his arraignment.

Theft

*Nov. 14 -- A woman affiliated with the University reported that at 12:27 p.m. at Franklin Field, located at 233 S. 33rd. St., an unidentified man picked up her backpack and fled the premises. The bag reportedly contained assorted clothing and the woman's keys. No dollar value was given.

*Nov. 12 -- A man whose affiliation with the University is unknown reported that between 2:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., someone entered his room at the Penn Tower Hotel, located at 3400 Civic Center Blvd., and took a laptop computer, a leather jacket and a wristwatch. The items are valued at $2,000.
