Bamboozled
Christian Association
118 S. 37th Street
7 p.m., Free
(215) 746-6350
Spike Lee's 2000 film about a TV exec who decides to create a blackface variety show, starring black people. The Christian Association does have some grit--after all, Bamboozled is a satire with a bite. PC-conscious Penn actually showed this film here in 2000, and rumor has it that Lee was in attendance.
Lucky Boys Confusion w/ Shades Apart, Riddlin' Kids, Don't Look Down
Trocadero Theatre
1003 Arch Street
7 p.m. Doors, $10
(215) 922-LIVE
Ska-punk is back! Uh, not really, but the Troc still books their shows sometimes. Don't Look Down, for the Riddlin' Kids are Shades Apart from the Lucky Boys Confusion. Suffice it to say that it should tell you something when such a convoluted sentence makes more sense than the bands' music does.
