Chris Kattan plays Corky Romano, a veterinarian who masquerades as an FBI agent to retrieve and destroy evidence on his famous mob father, "Pops" Romano. Unlike A Night at the Roxbury (Kattan's 1998 horrible venture), Corky Romano is not based on a Saturday Night Live sketch. The movie, however, feels like one drawn-out scenario played over and over again. You basically watch a highly spastic individual make an ass out of himself everywhere he goes. "I'm just a little wired," Corky says as he wiggles and squirms in front of the FBI director. And the truth is, Corky is wired because a recording device is taped to his crotch. As if Kattan's hyperactivity isn't enough, there's another scene where Corky dresses as a Girl Scout. More gimmicks follow. This pattern is basically the whole movie. So sadly, all Kattan can offer in Corky Romano is his characteristic teeth-clenching nervous grin.
