Weapons Violation
* Oct. 29 -- At 11:30 p.m. police stopped a suspicious vehicle at 39th and Market streets. As they approached the vehicle, the driver and passenger, both described as African-American men, allegedly got out of the car and ran -- the driver fleeing north on 39th Street and the passenger fleeing east on Market Street. The police officers allegedly observed the driver place a silver handgun in his waistband before he fled. The police officers then chased both individuals and apprehended the driver at 39th and Powelton streets and the passenger at 38th and Market streets. The two individuals, identified as 20-year-old Khalil Rose and 21-year-old Antwan Young, were arrested and taken to the Philadelphia Police Department's 18th District Headquarters at 55th and Pine streets for processing. Rose, the driver, did not have a weapon on him, but a subsequent search of the area reportedly produced a 9-mm handgun and two magazine clips. The suspects' vehicle was described as a blue 1992 Acura and its Pennsylvania license plate was found to be stolen.
