W. Lacrosse victimized by Elis offensive attack The Elis illustrated the reason it has garnered such high accord with a 16-5 drudging of Penn. The tone was set early, as Yale's Carrie Long opened the scoring just 15 seconds into the game. The offensive barrage of the Elis followed close behind. In the next 19:19 of the first half, Yale netted seven more, opening up an insurmountable 8-0 lead. Alyssa Chen, who tallied five goals on the game, scored three of the first eight for Yale. The Quakers were finally able to get on the scoreboard 20:29 into the contest, on a goal by Eliza Jacobs. Penn followed with the next score just 1:31 later, to draw within six. Yale reeled off another three goals before the end of the half, while the Quakers could only muster one more, scored by senior Emily Hansel. The second half was not nearly as one sided, but the Elis still managed to outscore the Quakers by a 5-2 tally. -- Kent Malmros
