Relays opens with Decathlon and Heptathlon Jeremy Culver of Kutztown took the lead midway through the competition with 3,899 points. He won both the 100 meters and the 400 meters. Culver's lead is a slim 58 points over Phil McMullen of Western Michigan. Penn State's James Cook, the defending champion, sits third. On the women's side, Katie Ollendick of Virginia Tech leads the heptathlon with 3,292 despite being the winner in only one event, the high jump. Penn's Julie Denisenko sits in ninth with 2,659 points. Both events conclude tomorrow. -- Josh Callahan
