The Daily Pennsylvanian

EDITORIAL: Doh!

To the Nominations and Elections Committee for throwing out the referendum on funding available for IFC-sponsored events, effectively telling 33 percent of the student body that its vote didn't matter. To University administrators for allowing the Political Science Department to fall out of line with its peers over the past several decades. The upcoming losses of Marissa Golden, the core of the department's American politics sector, and international relations specialist Dan Deudney will provide a substantial setback to the goal of departmental revitalization. To housing officials for providing vague answers to credible questions about the new college house program, and for moving the Castle-based Community Service Living-Learning Program to the high rises. If officials really want to cater to student interests, they must listen to student concerns. To University officials for offering leases with questionable clauses and high rents to longtime, successful area merchants who must move to make room for new Wharton classrooms and the Perelman Quad. To all those who allowed the Mitch Marrow ineligibility case to come to a close with no meaningful repercussions.
