SPORTS BRIEF: M. Swimming to face Ivy equal at Sheerr Pool

Both teams' records are similar and both have lost to and beaten many of the same opponents. Brown, Cornell, Princeton, and Yale have defeated both Penn (3-6, 2-6 EISL) and Columbia (3-5), and both squads have beaten Dartmouth. This competition is the Quakers' penultimate meet of the season beforeheading into the post season. Last weekend at home Penn picked up its second league win of the season by defeating Dartmouth 152-88. In that same meet, Yale topped Penn by a closer than expected 160-95 score. Unlike its women, which features Olympic champion Christina Teusher, the Columbia men are not a talent laden squad, so Penn has a legitamte shot to pick up a third league win. It is also their final shot at a league win as their final Eastern opponent is the powerful Harvard squad, which perenially boasts many national qualifiers. All the Eastern meets also serve as preparation for Eastern Championships, which will be held the first week of March. That meet is the only determinant of the league champion, with prior league records discarded and each team beginning the meet with even standing.
