Hwt. Crew to compete in Head of the Charles This weekend the Red and Blue continue their fall schedule, competing at the Head of the Charles, the season's premiere race, in Boston, Mass. Last Saturday's contest was highlighted by the heavyweight eight race. The Quakers team beat out the U.S. Naval Academy by a matter of seconds to take first place with a time of 13 minutes, 2.5 seconds. Dixon Gillis, Penn's strokes seat, dictated the rhythm in the winning boat. Two boats competed in the lightweight race for Penn, placing first and third. The first-place finishers recorded a time of 13:28. -- Kate Goldhaber
