Police had originally stopped the suspect for driving recklessly in the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m.Theft· April 23 -- A jacket belonging to a female student was stolen from the Nursing Education Building on Guardian Drive between 11:40 a.m. and 11:43 a.m. The jacket was left unattended outside a room.· April 23 -- The front wheel of a Magna mountain bicycle belonging to a female student was stolen from 41st and Walnut streets between 7 p.m. on April 22 and 9 a.m. on April 23.· April 22 -- A female student reported that a white men's mountain bicycle, which was secured to a railing, was stolen from the 4000 block of Sansom Street between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.· April 22 -- A female student's unattended and unsecured backpack, containing $4 in cash, a Sony Walkman and a checkbook, was stolen from a room in the David Rittenhouse Laboratory between 5:10 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.· April 22 -- A female student's backpack -- which contained $12 in cash, books, a passport and papers -- was stolen from a computer lab in the Towne Building at 33rd Street and Smith Walk. The backpack was left unattended and unsecured in the incident, which occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.· April 22 -- A male student's blue Bike Line bicycle was stolen from the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 39th and Delancey streets. The bike was secured to a rack in the incident, which occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.· April 22 -- A student's unattended and unsecured backpack -- which contained books, assorted papers and a PennCard -- was stolen from the third floor of Meyerson Hall at 34th Street and Locust Walk. The incident occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 4:40 p.m.· April 22 -- A female student's backpack containing books and a wallet with $40 in cash was stolen from a computer lab in Steinberg-Dietrich Hall between 4:20 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The backpack was left unattended and unsecured.· April 22 -- An unattended and unsecured Micron computer, valued at $6,000, was stolen from Steinberg-Dietrich Hall between 3:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.· April 19 -- A female student reported that her jacket was stolen from a residence on the 3900 block of Sansom Street at about midnight. The jacket had been left unattended on a chair during a party.Fraud· April 21 -- University Police chased a man -- who was allegedly panhandling under false pretenses -- from the 3700 block of Sansom Street at approximately 8:45 a.m.All information was obtained from University Police. Attempted Burglary· April 22 -- After observing a man attempting to open a first-floor rear window on a house on the 4000 block of Spruce Street at approximately 11 a.m., University Police chased the suspect several blocks before losing track of him near 42nd and Ludlow streets.
