Campus Crime Report: Thursday, March 20, 1997

Armed RobberyArmed Robbery· March 19 -- Two men robbed a University employee at gunpoint at 44th Street and Larchwood Avenue. Both suspects were described as 5'6", 120-pound black males between 16- and 20-years-old, wearing long dark blue down jackets and knit caps. One was armed with a silver revolver. One perpetrator -- a black male wearing dark clothes and a red baseball cap -- put his hand in his right pocket, stated he had a weapon and demanded money. A second suspect was wearing a lightweight Starter jacket. No description was available for the third suspect. Theft · March 18 -- A Trek 750 bicycle belonging to a male University student was stolen from Bennett Hall at 34th and Walnut Streets. The bicycle, valued at $600, had been secured to a rack in the incident, which occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. · March 18 -- University Police received a report that a purple Magnum mountain bicycle was stolen from the Quadrangle between March 10 and March 17. No further information was available. Fraud · March 19 -- A University employee reported that unknown individuals have been using her name to make fraudulent telephone calls from Italy and the United Kingdom during the month of March. Harassment · March 18 -- A female student in High Rise North reported receiving four harassing telephone calls between 4 a.m. and 4:35 a.m. University Police's Special Services division is handling the incident.
