Diner robbery suspects fail to make bail The four defendants charged with the robbery and related offenses were arraigned minutes after midnight. Two of the defendants -- Abdul Brown and Rasheed Scruggs -- were held on $3,000 bail, while defendant Bryheem Bell was held on $60,000 bail, and defendant Michael Wilson was held on $120,000 bail. All of the defendants failed to make bail, and they were transported to a prison where they will await their next court date -- scheduled for February 25 at the Philadelphia Police Department's 18th District headquarters at 55th and Pine streets. The robbery occurred at approximately 11:57 p.m. Saturday night at the American Diner, located at 42nd and Chestnut streets. According to police, the suspects robbed eight customers -- including two students -- and two employees at gunpoint, taking cash, credit cards and several jackets. They also took $70 in cash from the cash register. Police apprehended three of the suspects following a car chase which ended when the suspects' car crashed into a car at 44th and Walnut streets. Officers arrested the fourth suspect after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries were reported from the robbery or the chase. -- Erin Malec
