That tradition happened every Friday morning for an entire semester. One could say that Palan is extremely dedicated to The Daily Pennsylvanian. She is a vital part of it, since she rules over the paper's "cash cow" -- or in other words, she's in charge of The Weekly Pennsylvanian. One of the rules of the Weekly staff is: no DP relationships. But Palan came dangerously close to breaking this rule by using DP men for a kiss at the banquet, a four-semester-long crush and a date to a party. These aren't necessarily her fault, however, since she was influenced from hearing all the newsroom gossip. She knows more than she lets on. It must have been the Kosher green jello shots or the daiquiris (which she exploded in the Weekly's outgoing editor's blender) that tend to cause her to "spill" the gossip. Palan has no inhibitions, however, when she occasionally lets out a cry of: "Look! My jeans are falling down." It's a good thing that she has her overalls and a piece of hay to chew on. A friend from home, known only as Daniel, tells of a time Palan shed her overalls for a pink, puffy dress for her sister's wedding. He added that she brings her teddy bear everywhere. Mom Palan said she is still unsure of how her daughter feels about Daniel. She's a little too far from him now at Penn, Mom said. Maybe if she clicks her heels together and repeats: "There's no place like home?" -- Danielle Justo
