This comment from high school friend Mandi Issacs was the most interesting thing that this intrepid reporter could find out about 34th Street's new managing editor, Daniel Fienberg. Bottom line, Fienberg is just a swell guy. Even when he became a rebel by bleaching his hair bright blonde last summer, he couldn't escape his sweet boy image. His mother, Nona Fienberg, when asked about his change of color, said simply: "We were delighted. That was so cute when he decided to bleach his hair." But even the nice guy isn't beyond the law. In junior high school, Fienberg entered a state-wide science fair. His experiment was to observe the playing habits of boys and girls together at a day care center. According to Ma Fienberg, the so-called empirical observations "only ended when the police heard about it." Little boys and girls aren't the only thing Fienberg has taken an interest in. Besides an unnatural "obsession" with the now-engaged Gweneth Paltrow (according to second-year roommie Andrew Melbourne), Fienberg loves movies and television. What were his favorite TV shows growing up? "The Dukes of Hazard. No story. It was just his life," said Mom. "Well, that and Mr. Rogers. He really did adore Mr. Rogers." Daniel Fienberg: won't you be his neighbor every Thursday in Street? --Jason Giardino
