"She's already hit one rock wall, two pillars and a post," he says, laughing. Oh, and don't challenge Andrea on the gridiron, either, her father cautions. "She's got a male mind and a female body," he explains. "Her biggest dream is to quarterback the 49ers with Joe Montana." Ahles doesn't have a significant other right now, but according to friend Irene Tieh, a College junior, a mutual friend of theirs is interested. "He kisses [Ahles] whenever they see each other," Tieh says. "It's a really deep kiss, not one of those peck-on-the-cheek-type things." A political science and music major, Ahles traded the sun, sand and surf of Hawaii for four years of rain, snow, cold and general dreariness in West Philadelphia. Why? "We visited the campus, and she really liked it," says her mom, Carol. Perhaps more amazingly, the younger Ahles doesn't plan to return to Hawaii after graduation, since journalism jobs available on the island are too limited. Ahles's father says his daughter's persuasiveness will serve her well in her new job. "She has me around her finger, and whenever she wants something she knows exactly who to go to to get it," he explains. Adds mom: "She doesn't view herself as always being right, but whether you ask for it or not, she will be able to voice her opinion." -- Lisa Levenson
