Orchestra strike mayOrchestra strike maybe far from over But musicians' spokesperson Bob Bedard remained pessimistic that an end to the two week old strike is in sight. "There's really no hope for a quick settlement," he said. "The musicians have begun to settle in for the long haul." Bedard added that there has been "zero progress" thus far in the negotiations. The Academy of Music is expected to announce further concert cancellations due to the strike today. Six concerts, including opening night and a performance in New York City's Lincoln Center, have already been canceled. – Yochi Dreazen
