Nassau Fund accepting proposals Donated by the Nassau family, the grants, which are usually less than $1,000, are available to all undergraduates conducting research during this school year or during the summer. Ten to 15 grants will be awarded this year, according to College Dean Robert Rescorla. To qualify for funding, each student must complete an application form. The applications, which are available in the College Office, consist of a one-page abstract and a two-page report concerning the objectives and relevance of the project. According to Rescorla, students must also describe the research procedures, an implementation plan for completing the project and any background information. A faculty advisor must then endorse the project. -- Tammy Polonsky Pedestrian, U. employee in accident A Physical Plant employee struck a pedestrian with his car in front of the Law School at 34th and Sansom streets on Friday at about 3:30 p.m. According to Philadelphia Police officer Ubi Baldomero, the pedestrian had run down the street and put his hands directly on the car before he flipped over it. Baldomero said that the driver of the car said he was traveling about 10 miles per hour when he hit the pedestrian. University Police said the victim, who was unaffiliated with the University, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with an injury to his lower right leg. -- Josh Fineman
