Bill Madison seems to think that we try to help people less fortunante than ourselves because volunteerism may be "chic" now. Chic. Do you honestly think that that is our only motive, or even that it is a motive? My, my we certainly go to great extremes to be chic. I see Madison has an enormous chip on his shoulder and seems to believe that he has enough knowledge about the Panhellenic system and its members to be able to categorize us as more concerned with our hair than our philanthropy projects. Well, what has he done to help his community? How could he possibly know that our motives are purely selfish? Has he ever lowered himself enough to actually talk to someone in the Panhellenic system who is involved in reaching out to the community? Maybe if he did he might find out that people who give of themselves do so for unselfish reasons. But, even if there were some selfish motives, isn't that better than sitting on your lazy butt on Locust Walk making jokes about people who are trying to solve the problems at hand?
