The ramblings of wanna-be slut morons Bat and Skippy were merely annoying until the line was crossed with their last column (DP 2/14/92). Their concern is not whether or not they have raped anybody, but whether or not they'll get caught. It's not difficult for a man to avoid rape. Don't be such a whore. Don't pick on piss-drunk, semi-comatose women and take them to your room to have sex. If you insist on being a slut, simply ask, "Do you want it?" Of course, this would give a confused woman an opportunity to say no, and Bat and Skippy wouldn't want to risk missing an opportunity to prove their manhood. By the way guys, promiscuity proves nothing except that you are immature, insecure jackasses. Their defense in court would likely be, "How was I supposed to know she didn't want it? She was unconcious." These infantile jerks haven't considered the possibility that memories of forced or pressured intercourse can haunt a woman for a lifetime. Is traumatizing someone for a lifetime worth a drunken lay with a stranger? Neither do they realize that women may not share their opinion that going to someone's room is "asking for it." As stated by my friend's ex-girlfriend, who was raped her freshman year after going to someone's room: "I just didn't think anybody would do that to me." They say Tyson was convicted because Indianapolis isn't very forgiving? My friend isn't from Indianapolis, and I can assure you that he will never forgive the asshole who raped his ex. Rape is a serious crime, and it deserves serious retribution wherever it takes place. Skippy and Bat aren't at risk because they're sexually active. They're at risk because they're stupid and because they're sluts. Many people are sexually active, and most have managed to avoid the sleazy, ambiguous situation fools like Bat and Skippy pride themselves on. When are these guys going to get their heads out of their collective asses and realize that women are not out to accuse men? There is nothing a woman could possibly gain by having her entire sex life dissected before a jury. Bat and Skippy should stop worrying about getting accused and concentrate on getting consent.
