LETTER: Violent Protest

I find it very difficult to believe the answers given by Rosemary Dempsey in her interview (DP 2/18/92). Her responses are not based on fact, but rather on what she hopes is true. Pro-life supporters have not only gained momentum, but with the imminent overturning of Roe v. Wade, even more supporters have come forward to actively defend the sanctity of all human life. It's strange that a pro-abortion group would subscribe to a tactic they so vehemently opposed in the past. Non-violent protests outside abortion mills have long been considered fanatical by pro-abortionists. It's also ironic that the term "non-violent" is used in describing her strategy. Abortion is the most violent act known to mankind. Furthermore, is Dempsey inferring that people under the age of 16 have no concept of the value of human life and should not be allowed to attend the March for Life? Is there an age limit on defending the right to life? Most of Dempsey's answers were uneducated guesses at best, with no evidence in fact, only the desire to give misinformation to promote a heinous act of violence.
