I just read "Homey Don't Play That" by Sumeet Goel (DP 1/23/92) and I am appalled that your board chose to print that article. Although the subject addressed was a pertinent one, the style was poor and extremely offensive. Some writers can carry off colloquial writing full of obscenities; Goel cannot. However, no writer can justify such blatant sexism: "bagged three sluts"; "think about this in between deciding whether you want to bear Brandon's child, or Dylan's child, or both"; and "which 'stud' is going to sleep with which slut." It is sad that sexism is prevalent in our society, but even more pathetic is the fact that it is legitimized by your publication. Incidentally, his "best" was wrong -- it's "deuce."
