College of General Studies student Rebecca Greco's poem Loss won first place in the Society of Alumni Undergraduate Poetry Contest. And graduate student Catherine Staples received the William Carlos Williams Award of the Academy of American Poets for her piece, Remembering, Forgetting. Other undergraduate winners were: second place, College sophomore Jennifer Friedman; third place, College junior Marianne Park; and honorable mentions to College sophomores Dan Sacher and Nicholette Roemer. The undergraduate winners will split $200 in prize money. Other graduate winners were: second place, J. Thomas Bevan; third place, Zell Kravinsky; and honorable mentions Sharon Anne Jaeger and C.A. Crowley. The results of the creative writing, fiction and playwriting and literary translation contests will be announced next week. -- Roxanne Patel
