On Texas A&M;'s next trip down the floor, senior guard Acie Law missed a runner, but Joseph Jones slammed home the rebound to tie the game. And A&M;'s next same play saw the same result: Law missed a runner and Jones dunked the follow.
Penn to battle a pair of slumping teams
The Penn softball team (7-5) still doesn't know who it's playing during Saturday's doubleheader at Warren Field. It could be the St. Joseph's team that has thrown a perfect game, or it could be the other version of the team, which has gone 7-15. City Council hearing today may decide Phila. casinos' fate
If all goes as planned, today's City Council hearing may be the next step in community leaders' fight to stop the construction of Philadelphia's casinos. Councilman Frank DiCicco, whose district encompasses the locations of two casinos that are scheduled to open next year, has sponsored a bill that would place a referendum on the May 15 primary ballot asking voters to ban casinos within 1,500 feet of any home, school or house of worship.
