While Congress made several efforts to reform internet use this year, the bills have yet to pass, opening up the door to further debates over internet regulation.


With just over a week until the NBA Draft, Rosen’s schedule revolves around a flurry of workouts with NBA squads. Last week, the recently graduated point guard traveled to Phoenix and Detroit in the span of five days in order to work out with the teams.

The Zoning Board approved the application of a state liquor store at 43rd and Chestnut streets on June 14 after rejecting the store at an April hearing. The new ruling comes after the entire Zoning Board heard arguments for and against the store during a special appeals hearing on June 6.

The Latest

After advancing past the first round of tryouts for the U.S. National Lacrosse team for the second-straight year, the former Penn goalkeeper will head to Baltimore for the second round at UMBC from July 27-29, in an effort to make the national team and earn a spot on the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse World Cup roster.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s proposed ban on big sugary drinks would fail to have any significant impact. Reforms beyond the limited scope of this proposal are necessary to combat the ever-expanding waistlines of America’s cities.

Our societal mindset has shifted to thinking that racial slurs do not have the same impact as they did in the past. Many scholars and critics, arguing for the idea of a “post-racial society,” claim people see beyond race and more into individuality.

At the conference, 250 public health workers and researchers heard the most up-to-date research on the impact of high-sugar drinks on the body and discussed how to convince the public of these detrimental effects.
