The conference sought to address gender inequality in Pennsylvania's elected offices, which recently received a grade of "F" in the Representation 2020 Gender Parity Index.

"Much of our day-to-day life is influenced by smaller elections," College sophomore Nicole Brigstock said. "Showing up to vote once every four years is not going to cut it." 

Wharton sophomore Shane Goldstein and College sophomore Abigail Waugh founded Penn's chapter for the Climate Reality Project last fall. 

Two dozen students gathered on College Green to participate in the National Day of Action for a Clean Dream Act, which inspired walkouts at 30 schools across the country. 

The news marked a departure from Notre Dame’s announcement on Nov. 1 that birth control would only be covered free of charge for medical reasons.

Brown has helped victims of natural disasters multiple times in the past, including after Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. 

“People don’t consider that refugees had a full and vibrant life before they became refugees. This experience of being a refugee isn’t all that they are. They’re so much more than that.”

Krasner, who has no prior experience as a prosecutor, beat Republican Beth Grossman, a former Democrat and assistant district attorney. 

“People can’t agree on facts," College senior Nicholas Hagemann said. "At the end of the debate, they are just saying ‘Your facts are wrong.’”  

Kelly McCoy, a 2017 Lehigh graduate, organized a petition signed by over 30,000 people calling on the University to revoke Trump's honorary degree.

Rizzo served as police commissioner during the 1960s and as mayor from 1972 to 1980. He had notoriously tense relationships with the Philadelphia's black and LGBTQ communities during his tenure as a top city official. 

This comes several weeks after the Trump administration's rollback of certain parts of the Affordable Care Act. 

Stephanos Bibas is a former federal prosecutor and has argued multiple times before the Supreme Court. He was nominated for the position in June. 

“Some of my students are undocumented, and they deserve better,” said Chemistry professor Zahra Fakhraai, who attended the event. 

The tax plan, which is expected to be released on Nov. 2, will increase the deficit by $1-3.5 trillion in the first decade and will cost between $2 trillion and $10.6 trillion by 2040. 

Conservative House members objected to Penn Vet's funding, saying they did not want to allocate money towards a school that identifies as a "sanctuary campus."

At the protest, students wore diapers, suspenders and pacifiers while sitting surrounded by toys behind a plastic fence.
