When College and Wharton junior Anand Gopal received an email from College junior Rebecca Yee about the newest Greek organization on campus — biological honors society Phi Sigma — he admitted he was a bit hesitant.

Archbishop Charles Chaput announced on Feb. 24 that with the help of $12 million donated to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the high school, along with three others, will be spared from closure. A portion of the donations will be given to each school.

College freshman Danielle Shapira knew that she was eventually going to serve in the Israel Defense Forces at some point in her life. She’d been taught all throughout her childhood that as an Israeli citizen, it was one of her duties to protect her country.

Last week, Bon Appétit— which manages Penn’s dining system — announced a nationwide change in its animal welfare policy. The company will require that its 3 million pounds of pork used annually come from sources that do not use gestation crates, in addition to other changes.
