A large group of students, faculty and baseball enthusiasts filled Houston Hall Thursday to discuss the importance of baseball parks in revitalizing communities. The panel included Phillies President and CEO David Montgomery, a 1968 College graduate and 1970 Wharton MBA recipient.

For more than two decades, a carillon — a mechanical instrument that simulates the sounds a bell tower makes — has greeted thousands of Penn students walking by College Green.

Unlike dual meets, there aren’t any limits on the number of events in which each swimmer can participate. Many of the swimmers are using this invitational as an opportunity to achieve personal bests and demonstrate their abilities.

Whether college athletes should be compensated for their play has become a hot topic as the NCAA continues to grow as a business. Jerome Allen, coach of Penn men’s basketball team, believes that too much emphasis has been placed on money in college athletics.
