At the beginning of his sophomore year in high school, Peisach, an Engineering freshman, embarked on a mission to recreate the Shelby Cobra, a British-built-and-designed car from the 1960s. By the end of his senior year, he finished and then auctioned the car off for $111,000.


As part of the Emerging Scholar Talk, Wharton senior Laura Boudreau presented her research on environmental policy. Her talk was entitled “Promoting Food Security in a Volatile Environment: Micro Insurance Protection for Senegalese Farmers.”

Organized by the student organization Interactive Media Group and new location-based services SCVNGR and Venmo, the Venmo Geo Hunt will focus on Penn’s history, drawing students to different locations and give facts about important events.

Facilities and Real Estate Services will launch a pilot Eco-Reps program in Greek houses in the fall. Eco-Reps ­— a peer education initiative that aims to promote environmentally sustainable practices to students — has been active in Kings Court, Hill and Rodin college houses since October.

The event, sponsored by the United Minorities Council, featured 23 of its constituent groups, which set up tables on College Green with various interactive activities for passersby to enjoy. Celebration of Cultures is part of a larger effort to increase interculturalism on campus.
