The advisory group will assemble the perspectives of Jewish students at Penn to discuss “issues of concern,” according to an email to the Penn community on Nov. 16.

The DP researched some of the most notable donors to understand their backgrounds, Penn leadership roles, and level of generosity to Penn during their time as alumni. 

Christie spoke about antisemitism on college campuses and said Magill, in addition to the presidents of Harvard and Cornell universities, should be fired.

Over half of the Congress members who have publicly criticized Penn's response to Hamas' attack on Israel have received campaign support from withdrawn Penn donors and their affiliated companies.

The group will includes seven faculty representatives from multiple Penn schools, two student representatives, and six staff, alumni, and Trustee representatives.

The United States Department of Education is investigating five instances of antisemitism and two Islamophobia cases across seven schools.

The letter expressed concern about the University's “failure to respond to the defamation and harassment” that pro-Palestinian faculty members have been experiencing.

The group accused Penn of neglecting to support dissenting voices on the Israel-Hamas war and promised to hold programming in response to the University's failures. 

Notable changes in the last five years include reducing carbon emissions, adding electric vehicles to Penn Transit’s fleet, and developing academic collaborations.

The application period for rising juniors and seniors opened on Oct. 31 and is set to close at 5 p.m. on Nov. 21, for the 2024-25 academic year. 

Magill said that Penn is working with local and federal authorities to investigate recent antisemitic acts and forms of hate on campus.

The walkout opened with calls for a ceasefire, restoration of water and electricity in Gaza, and an end to United States and University aid to Israel.

"These reprehensible messages are an assault on our values and cause pain and fear for our Jewish community," Penn President Liz Magill wrote.

President Liz Magill has previously condemned the Hamas attack on Israel and antisemitism on campus in multiple statements to the Penn community.

Penn's Division of Public Safety was notified of the threats and conducted safety sweeps of Penn Hillel and Lauder College House.

The SAS Dean’s Office announced “Living the Hard Promise: A Dialogue Series” and reaffirmed its commitment to open expression in an email to the Penn community on Nov. 2.

Attendees gathered at the Split Button at 1 p.m. to hear speeches from Penn students and professors before marching on Locust Walk to continue the event outside Penn Hillel.
