The University will suspend operations due to snow for the second day in a row, according to Executive Vice President Craig Carnaroli, marking the first consecutive snow days since 1994.

In October, a federal jury awarded over $400,000 to a former student who claimed the University cheated him out of a degree from the Wharton School. But on Jan. 27, Penn was granted a new trial by the federal judge that presided over the initial lawsuit.

We appreciate Penn’s decision to make the calls to cancel classes early, though we would have liked the University to have notified students via e-mail.

Douglas Sheppard, a native of Rutherford, N.J., received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and would have graduated from Wharton this year.


Penn to close Wednesday due to snow

The University will not hold classes on Wed., Feb. 10 due to snow, according to Executive Vice President Craig Carnaroli, but “essential personnel” are required to report to campus as scheduled.



Honesty stressed through OCR

Two students participating in On-Campus Recruitment made “egregious” changes to their paperwork before sending it to employers, according to Career Services.

This past week, Facebook — which has over 400 million active users worldwide and is worth $6.5 billion, according to Silicon Alley Insider — has introduced a site redesign to 80 million of its users. Redesign for all users is expected to occur over the next few months.
