Total charges to undergraduates for the 2010-11 school year will rise to $51,944 from $49,986 this year. The 3.9 percent increase is the second-smallest ever behind last year's 3.8 percent rise.

While the Quakers’ top 17 swimmers began the Ivy League Championships yesterday in Boston, the rest of the team is traveling to Pittsburgh to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships at Trees Pool.



U. approves new research center

The designs for the Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology — which has been eight years in the making — were approved Thursday at the Facilities and Campus Planning Trustee Meeting.


'Onion' journalists talk satire at Penn

Although the predicted snowstorm had started outside, the front room at the Kelly Writers House was packed Thursday evening when Joe Garden, features editor at The Onion, and his fellow writer Chris Pauls came to speak about satirical journalism.







Last chance at the big dance

The Quakers start their season Saturday at Drexel with some unfinished business, namely their ultimate goal of a national championship. Penn, which went 15-3 in 2009, was defeated by Northwestern for the third straight season in the NCAA tournament last year.
