Across the country, similarly misguided school authorities have ordered the removal of nominally religious images and quotations (such as an educational poster featuring the five pillars of Islam or a Ronald Reagan quote that mentioned God) and banned or bullied religious clubs.

On Monday, Project on Fair Representation filed a federal lawsuit against Harvard University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in an effort to ban race-based affirmative action policies. The lawsuit claimed that these policies hurt high-achieving white and Asian American students by holding them to a higher standard than students of different racial backgrounds.



The UA is considering free printing for students.  At the Nov. 16 meeting, the UA discussed the interest level in free printing and reducing the requirements for uncoordinated dual degree programs. Free Printing The UA discussed free printing for College and Nursing students. Wharton freshman and UA representative Jack Cahn has been working on research related to free printing for the past few months. Cahn noticed that Wharton and Engineering students have some money set aside for printing that they can use in Huntsman or Engineering buildings respectively.


The Turner Social Impact Society launched this past October to create an interdisciplinary community across Penn through which students can be exposed to social impact opportunities and cultivate their passions for social change.

On Monday night, Penn President Amy Gutmann and Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter headlined a marquee launch event for the PCI. The event featured a performance by the a cappella group, Off the Beat, and took place in the Prince Theater of the Annenberg Center.
