Penn ranked number one private college

College factual has ranked Penn as the best private college in the U.S.

According to the site — which ranks schools based on graduation rates, loan default rates and average starting salaries — Penn was selected as the best school because of its programs, many of which rank in the top 10 in the country, as well as its interdisciplinary curriculum and student civic engagement. 

The top 10 schools according to College Factual are:

1. University of Pennsylvania 

2. Yale University

3. Duke University  

4. Harvard University

5. MIT

6. Brown University

7. Stanford University

8. Princeton University

9. Dartmouth College

10. University of Notre Dame
