On Tuesday, eight national fraternities announced that they will participate in the Fraternal Health and Safety Initiative consortium to train 35,000 undergraduates in recognizing, diagnosing and intervening in potentially harmful situations like sexual assault, hazing and binge drinking. More than 550 colleges, including Penn, will be represented in the consortium.
The announcement follows the White House's "It's On Us" campaign, which encourages people to see preventing or intervening in sexual assault as a personal responsibility.
The fraternities currently participating in the consortium are Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Alpha Mu, Sigma Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Triangle.
