Friends and family of Engineering junior Oliver Pacchiana will gather for a memorial service in the Engineering Quadrangle on Monday at 6 p.m.
Pacchiana died on Sunday after he suffered a fall while climbing in Namibia, where he was traveling while on spring break from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, where he was studying abroad.
The service will include a slideshow featuring photos of Pacchiana and music from a Penn Band CD that he performed on, as well as several Penn Electric Racing projects that Pacchiana worked on. The Penn Band will also perform to close the service.
A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Church in Pacchiana’s hometown of Greenwich, Conn.
In lieu of flowers, Pacchiana’s family requests donations be sent to Boy Scout Troop 35, Greenwich Council.
