1999 College graduate Adam Cook’s run for Congress has come to an end.

The Associated Press called the race for incumbent Rob Wittman (R-Va.) at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Cook, a Democrat, trailed Wittman 60.8 percent to 37 percent, with just under one quarter of precincts reporting.

Cook, an Afghanistan veteran, faced a challenge in a district that had not elected a Democrat to the House in over 30 years.
