With the opening of Penn Park, Penn Transit Services has launched the Campus Loop Bus, which will begin operating on Thursday.

The Campus Loop Bus will operate between the Levy Tennis Pavilion in Penn Park and 40th Street between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Key pick up locations will include the Penn Bookstore, Pottruck Health and Fitness Center, the Dental School’s Robert Schattner Center and David Rittenhouse Laboratories.

The eastern edges of campus are quickly becoming more active spaces, Business Services Director Brian Shaw said.

With the creation of Penn Park and Weiss Pavilion and ongoing construction at Shoemaker Green and the Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology, the heart of campus will shift east in the future, Provost Vince Price added.

Two vehicles will be traveling the route on weekdays. After 6 p.m., students can call 215-898-RIDE to get transportation from Penn Park to 34th and Walnut streets.

Students can also view a live bus map and track the locations of the buses online or on their smart phones at www.pennrides.com.

PennCard holders have free access to the Campus Loop Bus and can bring up to two guests with them. The bus will be transporting students to Penn Park for its grand opening on Thursday evening at 5 pm.
