On April 4, The Daily Pennsylvanian published an editorial arguing that a decrease in the percentage of minority students in the prospective Class of 2015 counteracted the University’s commitment to diversity.

The data on which the editorial was based was incorrect. Self-identified minority students represent 52 percent of the incoming class and not 44 percent, a figure that did not include international students. The diversity of this year’s incoming class actually increased over that of last year’s class.
