Despite rumors of its closing and competition from the neighboring Chipotle and Qdoba, Mexicali will keep its doors open.

According to its general manager, Mexicali is "not going out of business."

Mexicali, located at 110 S. 40th St., offers an array of Mexican cuisine, providing a casual take-out venue.

He added that Mexicali is doing well with business, and that "everyone should stop twittering about it."

At the same time, though, Mexicali has not been open to the public on certain occasions in recent weeks.

The general manager declined to comment on the reason for these closures.

Usually, the restaurant is open on Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to its Web site.

Mexicali also recently revamped its Mexican fare by offering only burritos.

College freshman Ned Cunningham, a self-described burrito fan, said that he enjoys eating at Mexicali.

"It's better than most fast food establishments," he said.
