In a press release on its web site, the University of Albany announced its basketball schedule for the upcoming season. And highlighting its non-conference home schedule is Penn, who will travel to Albany on Nov. 29 to take on the Great Danes.
The meeting will be the first-ever between the two teams, though Penn holds a 9-1 record against America East opponents.
Albany will see plenty of other talented opponents. It opens its season against Big 5 member Villanova and will play a game at defending national champion Kansas.
The announcement is the first official indication of the Quakers' 2008-09 schedule.
Penn will also travel to North Carolina to close out its three-game series with the Tar Heels in addition to annual contests against City Six opponents and the Ivy League.
